INTRODUCTION

Quality education can be achieved through continuous research from time to time. Global challenges of current universal education is emphasising on quality education using the approaches of teaching and learning (T&L) that correspond to current changes. However, emphasis on quality approach and high education standards cannot cast aside the emotional, spiritual and value aspects because the present scenario is showcasing issues in relation to the students’ emotional, moral and well-being which are increasingly unfolding than the achievements of technological advancement and innovation. Education around the world especially in Islamic institutions need to revise the curriculum and needs through research to emphasise and strengthen the concept of education based on Al Quran and Sunnah.

The concept of “Tarbiyah Islamiyah” which carries the meaning of care, nurture and education from sources based on al-Quran and the Sunnah of the Prophet SAW is the learning approach of the messenger of Allah SWT as mentioned in the Qur’an al-Karim:

“You are the best nation produced [as an example] for mankind. You enjoin what is right and forbid what is wrong and believe in Allah” – (Ali ‘Imran: 110)

Education which is integrated with the value of education in the 21st century approach needs to be emphasised to produce generation of Muslims and believers who are educated, nurtured, with moral and Taqwa and have conscience as servants and caliphs on Earth. 5th International Seminar on Tarbiyah 2021 (5th ISoT 2021) is expected to be a useful platform for academicians, researchers and scholars to ensure the future of the young generation of Muslims who are knowledgeable and capable to serve the nation, religion and the country.


OBJECTIVES

  1. Provide medium for researchers and scholars to share experience related to education in Islam as well as education universally.
  2. Present result and findings related to researches related to education in Islam and education in general.
  3. Discuss the results and issues in empowering education in various fields.
  4. Provide ideas or suggestions obtained from research findings to stakeholders to improve education system, methodology or curriculum.
